Hi guys,
I've been searching the Interwebs all morning to sort this problem:
Scenario
Deploying a graphics-rich (uses DirectX) EPOS solution.
Installation
- Windows Server 2012 Standard, single server set as WORKGROUP (i.e. not a member of a domain.)
- Hyper-V and Remote Desktop Virtualization Host roles installed
Problem 1
Nag popup about licensing - I fully understand that by adding RemoteFX to Hyper-V that CALs are required.
Attempted Resolution 1
Installed Remote Desktop Licensing Manager and added some "per user" and "per device" CALs.
Problem 2
RDVH doesn't automatically "know" about the new license manager. I understand that there is no user interface to set this as full Remote Desktop Services are not installed. Note: I have no need (or a spare server!) in this scenario for Active Directory etc.
Attempted Resolution 2
Various articles point to using PowerShell (no surprise there!) with the following commands:
Import-Module RemoteDesktopServices CD RDS: CD .\RDVHConfiguration\LicensingSettings ...
However, I only see a LicenseServer container (which, as expected, mirrors the configuration of the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager and the CALs I installed.)
Where is my RDVHConfiguration container?!
Regards,
Andy
