Hello everyone,
This used to be a very simple thing in Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2008...but I need some help in Windows Server 2012 R2.
We just deployed 4 Windows Server 2012 R2 servers.
This is what I need and all I need: Change RDP-Tcp encryption type to FIPS Compliant under Connections in Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration.
That small configuration change used to be simple in Windows Server 2008 R2. But in order for me to do that in Windows Server 2012 R2, it seems like that I have to install Remote Desktop Services feature.
So I installed that feature on the new 2012 R2 servers. It installed Remote Desktop Connection Broker, Remote Desktop Session Host and Remote Desktop Web Access features, and since then, I am getting this message:
"Remote Desktop licensing mode is not configured. Remote Desktop Services will stop working in 120 days."
All I want to do is to change RDP-Tcp encryption type. Do I have to deploy a licensing server for this? Is there any way I can only change RDP-Tcp encryption type?
