User Profiles Disks - extending

Hi

I have come across a client who have implemented User Profile Disks and need to beable to extend them as a couple have reached their maximum 5GB limit.

I have done lots and lots of reading on this but it still seems to come back to the same thing, the client needs to have the Hyper-V role installed to be able to extend their drives.  Is there any way of extending the disks without having the Hyper-V role installed?
