Windows Server 2012 R2 - Can't Establish Outbound RDP Connections

Hi all,

got a Win 2012 R2 box which has recently stopped being able to rdp outbound to other servers (remote customer sites, totally different networks, rdp to their various public facing ip addresses). Does anyone have any advice on where i can look to see at what point the RDP connection is failing? The 2012 server keeps returning the standard connection failure message:

Remote Access Cannot Connect to the remote computer for one of the following reasons:
1)  Remote access not enabled
2)  Remote computer turned off
3)  Remote computer not available

Weird thing is we have another server on our end (2008R2 box) with the same access rights and that can still access the customer's servers without issue. Is there anywhere in Event Viewer i should be checking? Or can i enable some specific rdp logging?

In my expeirence if rdp isn't connecting it's usually a firewall thing but that doesn't seem likely in this case. Unfortunately i can't test telnet or ping since they're both blocked. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks
